PM condoles death of ex-UNI stringer Brahm Kanchibotla
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condoled the death of former UNI stringer Brahm Kanchibotla, due to Novel Coronavirus infection.
In a condolence message, the PM said, ‘Deeply anguished by the passing away of Indian-American journalist Mr Brahm Kanchibotla. He will be remembered for his fine work and efforts to bring India and US closer.Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.’
The 66-year-old former stringer for United News of India, had breathed his last due to cardiac arrest on Monday in a hospital in New York.
He had been admitted to the hospital last week, his family said.
Kanchibotla developed symptoms of COVID-19 on March 23.
He was admitted to the hospital on March 28, after his condition worsened. He was put on a ventilator on March 31.
Apart from working as a stringer with UNI, Kanchibotla had earlier also worked as a content editor for Merger Markets, a financial publication.
He also worked briefly with News India.
