The Prime Minister of India took to the social media site Twitter to express his gratitude to the offer to support extended to the people of Kerala by the Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Makhtoum at time when the state is witnessing the worst flood-scenario ever seen in the last 100 years.
On twitter Modi stated, “A big thanks to @hhshkmohd for his gracious offer to support people of Kerala during this difficult time. His concern reflects the special ties between governments and people of India and UAE.”
In a series of tweets, Sheikh Mohammed said, “The state of Kerala in India is currently witnessing huge floods, the most devastating in a century. Hundreds have been killed, hundreds of thousands have been displaced. Ahead of Eid Al Adha, do not forget to extend a helping hand to our brothers in India.”
