Lucknow: Prime minister Narendra Modi is slated to address the farmers of Uttar Pradesh on December 25, the birth anniversary of late Prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, officials said here on Saturday.
UP will be observing December 25 as Atal Diwas .
On that day Mr Modi will interact with farmers at the block level for which the state ministers and BJP leaders have been made in charge, BJP sources here on Saturday said .
The decision was taken during the high level meeting here on late Friday night which was attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his ministerial colleagues and several BJP leaders.
At every 821 blocks, big screens would be put on where the farmers will be able to watch the PM’s address. The state agriculture department has been made the nodal department for the programme.
On the other hand the BJP as well as the UP government has drawn up a plan to celebrate the birth anniversary of Atal Bihar Vajpayee on December 25.
On that day, the foundation would be laid for Atal Sanstriti Sankul at the native village of Mr Vajpayee in Agra district. The programme will be held virtually.
Meanwhile, UP government has also announced that it will celebrate the birthday of Late PM Choudhury Charan Singh as Kisan Diwas by holding several farmers oriented functions through out the state .
