United Tribals Associations Alliance (UTAA) President Prakash Velip has threatened to lead thousands of tribals to the Crime Branch office if the police continue to harass the tribals in connection with their agitation on 25th May.
Accusing the police officials of harassing the tribals under the guise of investigations in the incident, he said he would lead thousands of people who participated in the agitation to the Crime Branch office to enable its officials to record their statements.
He also accused the police of going slow in the investigations in the murder of two tribal leaders who were burnt to death in the Adarsh building on that day and said the police instead were harassing the tribals.
MLA Ramesh Tawadkar while pointing out that no headway has been made in the judicial probe announced by the government in the incident, said people turn to violent means only when the democratic set up breaks down.
Asserting that the democratic set up in Goa in on the verge of collapse, he said the Digambar Kamat led government has to be ousted to prevent the state from slipping into violence and anarchy.
