Answering to questions raised by two Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) Alexio Reginald Lourenco and Vijai Sardesai on the Vasco rape case of a seven-year old girl at the Deepvihar School which has not yet been solved, Chief Minister and Home Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar stated that the Goa Police and Crime Branch is doing its best to solve this case, even the Judge of the Children’s Court was satisfied in the manner in which the investigations has progressed.

“The Crime Branch has been working diligently on this case. So much so that they have gone to practically every house in Vasco to find the alleged rapist. But not a single person in Vasco has been able to identify the rapist,” expressed Parrikar.

When questioned on the ‘Monty’ suspect which was revealed in the previous Assembly session by the CM, Parrikar stated that all inquiries into the whereabouts of Monty – nephew of the head-mistress indicates that Monty was not in Goa on the day of the incident. Nevertheless, we have asked Interpol to verify more details on this suspect.
