Police raid dance bar in Panjim Hotel

The Panjim Police this afternoon raided a dance bar operating in a hotel and rescued six women while arresting five men in Goa’s capital city Panjim.

Police Inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai said that the dance bar had been operating in the city for some weeks.

“Six women have been rescued while five persons have been arrested. The women were made to dance in the hotel’s dining area,” Prabhudesai said.

The raid comes more than a week after Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s assurance in his Aug 15 address that his government was against dance bars.
