Goa Police have strongly objected to the anticipatory bail sought by notorious criminal Jose Lopes more commonly known as Joe Boy and asserted that his custodial interrogation was extremely important.
Joe Boy has gone underground since it was revealed that he had given a contract to harm Home Minister Ravi Naik’s family and more particularly his son Roy who has been alleged to have links with the drug dealers operating in the State.
The police said that all efforts by them to contact Joe Boy to investigate the reported contract have failed. Another habitual criminal Michael Fernandes during his interrogation had disclosed that he was contracted by Joe Boy to harm Roy Naik.
Besides, the police have urged the court not to grant anticipatory bail to Joe Boy as he is wanted in nearly 15 other criminal cases and that his custodial interrogation was important to investigate all those cases.
