Pointing out that politicians did not focus on the development of these constituencies, Panjikar said that issues like unemployment and women development have also been neglected.
Speaking about party’s initiatives in the development of these constituencies, he said that they have helped in forming 20 self-help groups in both the constituencies to make women self-employed. And further added that they will market whatever products these women produce.
These two NCP units which have been formed recently also claimed that they have enrolled about 2,000 members and their target is to enroll 10,000 members by the end of 2011.
Panjikar also said that it is for the High Command to decide who contests elections from these constituencies and said that that plan to form youth and student wings in these two constituencies.
