Portugal Challenger: Mukund-Prashanth reach doubles’ semi-final


Chandigarh, Nov 22 (GCSports) Indian duo of Sasikumar Mukund and N Vijay Sundar Prashanth stormed into doubles semi-final after beating wild cards Portugal pair of Tiago Cacao and Joao Monteiro in the quarter-final of the €46,600 Maia Open Challenger Portugal.

The pair of Mukund-Prashanthin thrashed their opponent in straight sets 7-6, 6-4 in a contest which lasted for one hour and 25 minutes on Thursday.

During the match, Mukund-Prashanth saved six of 10 break points and won all the five break points. The Indian pair served two aces and committed four double faults while keeping their first serve 64 per cent in.

Cacao-Monteiro could not save even a lone break points out of five but won four out of 10 break points. They kept their first service 64 per cent in.
