Hyderabad, Oct 21 (GCCurrentAffairs) Several Congress leaders were put under house arrest and some of the workers were taken into preventive custody in the city and also at various places in the state on Monday ahead of their proposed plan to lay siege the Pragathi Bhavan, the camp office-cum-residence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in support of the ongoing indefinite strike by RTC Employees.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday appealed to party workers from all districts to reach Hyderabad and gather at Pragathi Bhavan.
The Congress is protesting against the adamant attitude of Chief Minister, who is not holding talks with RTC unions to resolve the issue.
The indefinite strike by RTC employees entered 17th day today demanding merger of RTC with the Government and other demands.
