1- What do you think are the changes that have happened in Goa in the last four years and what do you see in the future of Goa in the next four years?

During the last four years, goa and goans have ben vibrant and active on social issues and issues relating to environment and corruption. Goans have raised their voices on various issues like SEZ, regional plan, mining solutions, etc. Now Goans no longer can be considered as a Susegad lot so that they can be exploited. The last four and more years has seen number of Goans doing outnumbered on account of two main reasons. First, being the ever increasing migrant influx.

Secondly, the Goans themselves migrating abroad for better prospects, after four years if the same trend continues, it may be disastrous for Goa and Goa will lose its identity forever.

2- What are the most critical issues working towards Goa’s advantage?

Goa in the world over is known for its communal harmony. We have lived in peace and harmony and no Divisive force was successful to even tamper with this unique harmonious fabric of Goa. For this quality of Goa being a peaceful state, more and more tourists prefer to visit Goa and so also prefer to settle here, thereby being a major boost to tourism and Goa’s economy. but sadly, many evils have also crept into this state, drug trafficking, prostitution which is ruining the youth and on the other hand, land prices has skyrocketed to become unaffordable to Goans.

3- What are the most critical issues working towards Goa’s disadvantage?

Poor infrastructure, roads and waste management system.

4- What does Goa need to do over the next four years to be recognised as a Global destination?

Law and order has to be maintained at all the cost to be known as the safe destination. Women should feel safe in Goa, cleanliness and hygiene conditions should be preserved. Goa should also be selective in the kind of tourists we require and the promotions for tourism should be made accordingly.

5- Are the people of Goa its biggest drawback or its biggest strength?

Definitely the people of Goa are its strength. the tolerant nature of Goans prevent a lot of violence as they do not easily get provoked into violence of flimsy issues which socially conscious nature which has to safeguard the beauty of this state to a larger extent.
