Madurai: BJP National President J.P.Nadda, who had a darshan at the World-renowned Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple here on Saturday, said he had prayed for the peace and prosperity of Tamil Nadu.
“Overwhelmed to see the grandeur and cultural richness of Meenakshi Temple which has been at the core of our cultural and religious traditions since time immemorial,” he said.
“Truly fortunate to receive the blessings at the Meenakshi Temple and prayed for the peace and prosperity of Tamil Nadu, Mr.Nadda tweeted before kickstarting his election campaign in the poll-bound state.
This is the second visit of Mr.Nadda to Tamil Nadu in less than a month.
Earlier, he participated in the “Namma Ooru Pongal” celebrations in Chennai on January 14, organized by the party’s State unit.
He also participated in the 51st anniversary of Tamil magazine Tughlak.
The BJP President is the second National leader to visit the state ahead of assembly election.
Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi kicked off party’s election campaign in Coimbatore on January 23.
He addressed a series of meetings, interacted with MSME representatives, weavers and farmers in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Karur and Dindigul districts.
The political activities had gained momentum in the state, as the assembly election were slated to take place between April and May this year.
