Goa Police has reportedly instituted an enquiry into the incident of its senior officer, Veenu Bansal, Superintendent of Police (Anti Narcotic Cell) using the official patrol boat for a private leisure trip after his photograph on the boat was published in a local newspaper.
A photograph of Veenu Bansal using the sophisticated patrol boat recently acquired by the Goa Marine Police Force for angling with friends and their children was published in the newspaper on Monday.
The photograph also revealed that Veenu Bansal’s guests were wearing life jackets meant for the Marine Police force.
Police spokesman Atmaram Deshpande told media persons that the department has taken note of the incident but refused to give any further comments on it. Veenu Bansal also refused to comment on the incident and suggested that the Director General of Police be contacted instead.
