Former Chief Minister Shashikala Kakodkar advised the youth to propagate the ideas and principles of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar which she said are relevant even today. She was speaking at the function organized by All Goa Dalit Mahasangh to mark the 54th Death Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in Panjim on Sunday.
Kakodkar further said that Dr. Ambedkar, the Architect of India’s Constitution, always worked tirelessly for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden of the society. “Dr. Ambedkar not only framed the constitution but also contributed for the cause of India’s unity”, she added.
On this occasion, Kakodkar felicitated harmonium player Yeshwant Ladu Parsekar from Parsem and wocial worker Shantaram Parwar from Priol. The students from the Dalit community were also awarded scholarships.
