The Benaulim Community Centre, in association with Goa Chronicle.Com will observe Saturday 9th April as a protest day against two main wrongdoings on Goa and Goans.
In the first place, the protest day will demand a ban on release of the movie Dum Maro Dum on grounds that it shows Goa in a poor light and Goan girls to be of loose virtues. Besides, Bipasha Basu, the lead actress in the Rohan Sippy directed film will be asked for the “ridiculous” dialogue that in Goa liquor is cheap and the women are cheaper.
The day is also being observed to protest against the illegal leasing of Benaulim-Vaddi SAG ground to a private sports club, without taking the local Banaulikars and the State Cabinet into confidence.
The protest will be held at the Benaulim Community Centre from 4:30 pm onwards with Dr. Hubert Gomes of Benaulim Community Centre and Savio Rodrigues of Goa Chronicle.com addressing the meeting.
