Speaking about the surgery performed, he said: “Mr Shaikh, a 67-year old patient complained about mild urinary symptoms like difficulty in breathing. Various tests performed revealed that he was having prostate cancer and luckily it was detected at a very early stage and was specific only to prostate.”
He then underwent a successful operation by ‘key hole laparoscopic technique’, informed Dr Kumar Raj.
Stressing on the fact that the key hole laparoscopic surgery is excellent for prostate cancer if detected at the preliminary stage, Dr Kumar Raj said that there is no difference in the cost and recovery is fast.
Prostate cancer occurs in men and the risk increases with ageing. The symptoms include – difficulty in passing urine, increased frequency, occasional blood in the urine, backache, but many a time without any symptoms.
