Acting finally, the authorities late Thursday night suspended disgraced Police Sub Inspector Sunil Gudlar who was caught on camera peddling drugs to two foreign nationals. Gudlar stands suspended pending an enquiry disclosed police officials.
It may be recalled that Gudlar was caught on camera selling drugs to two foreign nationals and was also seen brazenly admitting that the police including his seniors, accept bribes.
As soon as the tapes were aired by local television channels in Goa, the authorities transferred Gudlar from the Anti Narcotic Cell which he was heading following the suspension of Police Inspector Ashish Shirodkar in the infamous police-drug dealer nexus case, to the Security branch of Goa Police.
The suspension comes in the wake of Chief Minister Digambar Kamat asking the Home Department for a status report on the case.
With this action, Gudlar becomes the eighth police personnel to be suspended in police-drug nexus case.
