Harda, MP: As the nation eagerly awaits the arrival of five Dassault Rafale multirole fighter aircraft, here is a related story – linked to this otherwise nondescript district headquarters – that should serve as a glowing source of inspiration to Indian youth in general and Civil Services aspirants in particular.
When the jets departed for India from a French airbase, the people who witnessed the momentous event included Mr Naman Upadhyaya, a 2016-batch Indian Foreign Service officer who hails from here and is posted as Second Secretary (Press, Information and Culture) at the Indian Embassy in Paris. He was present when the first Rafale was formally handed over to Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh on Vijayadashami 2019.
Mr Naman’s sire Mr Narmadaprasad Upadhyaya retired from the Commercial Tax Department.
“Our entire family is experiencing pride,” the officer’s paternal uncle Narendra averred.
Mr Naman’s younger sibling Nihit is Deputy Superintendent of Police, Indore
