Congress President Rahul Gandhi in his talk at the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London compared Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to the Muslim Brotherhood in the Arab world.
But interestingly, his political party shares close ties with a questionable Muslim organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) allegedly known to have links to ISIS and Al Qaeda and is under investigations by National Investigation Agency (NIA). In recent elections in Goa and Karnataka, PFI leaders shared a stage with Congress leaders in Goa and Karnataka. Demand for a ban on the organisation.
Last year five men with suspected links to the Islamic State terror group were arrested from Kannur in Kerala. The development established the links between the ISIS and the PFI.The investigation team has confirmed that the five men had links with the PFI.
Gandhi said, “The RSS is trying to change the nature of India. There is no other organisation in India that wants to capture India’s institutions. What we are dealing with is a completely new idea. It’s an old idea being reborn. It is similar to the idea that exists in the Arab world of the Muslim Brotherhood. The idea is that one ideology should run through every institution and one idea should crush all other ideas.”
The BJP-RSS people are dividing our own people. They are spreading hatred in our own country. Our job is to bring the people together and take the country forward and we have shown how to do it,” he said.
