New Delhi: In continuance with the resignation drama post the humiliating defeat in at the recently concluded Lok Sabha 2019 Election, Rahul Gandhi has now taken to social media platform to confirm that he has resigned from the post of Congress President and has asked the members of the Congress Working Committee to appoint a new Congress President.
In a four page letter shared on social media platform Twitter, Rahul Gandhi stated, “As President of the Congress Party, I am responsible for the loss of the 2019 election. Accountability is critical for the future growth of our party. It is for this reason that I have resigned as Congress President.”
He further went on the state, “My fight has never been a simple battle for political power. I have no hatred or anger towards the BJP but every living cell in my body instinctively resists their idea of India.”
Rahul Gandhi continued with his statement stating that the Congress campaign was one of brotherhood, tolerance and respect for all of India’s people, religion and communities. “I personally the fought the Prime Minister, the RSS and institutions they have captured with all my being,” he expressed.
