Rahul Gandhi shares his gratitude to people for voting for Congress

After the setback faced by the Congress in the Karnataka assembly elections, where the BJP emerged as the single largest party, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday thanked all those who voted for the party in the elections.

In a tweet, Mr Gandhi also lauded the workers and leaders for their dedication and hard work in support of the party.

“A big thank you to all those who voted for the Congress in these elections. We appreciate your support and will fight for you. Thank you also to our workers and leaders for their dedication & untiring hard work in support of the party,”Gandhi said in a tweet.

The Congress failed to repeat its performance of the 2013 assembly polls, with the party winning/leading in 78 seats in the Karnataka assembly seats while the BJP emerged as the single largest party in the state assembly with win/lead on 104 seats.

The JD-S was on third position with win/lead on 40 seats. The Congress has offered to support the JD-S for formation of the government in the state.
