Well-planned and timed raids were conducted at eight locations across fives states as part of the on-going investigations into the alleged plot to assassinate Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
The raids were conducted by the police teams in Maharashtra, Goa, Telengana, Jharkhand and Delhi.
The police have claimed to have found critical evidence in emails, documents, literally material – to indicate that Left Wing Extremists and Maoists – were planning an assassination bid on PM Modi through a bomb blast.
In Maharashtra police raided the houses of well known revolutionary writer and Maoist ideologue Varavara Rao and her daughter in Pune. Houses of a journalist working with a leading Business paper and a Telugu language journalist were also raided in Pune. Another house of a professor working with the English and Foreign Language University has been searched.
In Mumbai houses of Arun Ferreira, Susan Abraham and Vernon Gonsalves were searched. In Goa the house of Anand Teltumbde. Stalin Swamy in Jharkhand. While the houses of Gautam Navlakha and Sudha Bhardwaj were raided.
