Gandhinagar, Jun 15 (GCCurrentAffairs) Moderate to heavy rain lashed coastal areas of Gujarat on Saturday even when even when cyclonic storm VAYU has become weaker and is likely to recurve and hit Kutch coast on June 17 or 18.
According to the weather office, 10 talukas of five coastal districts Gir Somnath, Amreli, Junagadh, Rajkot and Porbandar recorded light rain.
Rains lashed 61 talukas of 13 districts, of which around 20 talukas have recorded one inches or more rain while 10 have seen that in excess of 2 inches.
In Gir Somnath district, Sutrapada Taluka received 122 mm or around 5 inches of rain.
Other prominent talukas which received rain are Veraval 108 mm, Talala 102 mm, Mangrol 93 mm , Kodinar 81mm , Kutiana 62 mm , Malia 61 mm, Bhesan 50 mm, Mendarana 49 mm , Junagadh city 48 mm and Savarkundala 45 mm.
Una Taluka recorded 14 mm rain while Gir Gadhada 11 mm.
