Jaipur: In the wake of alarming surge in COVID-19 cases, the Rajasthan government has imposed a weekend curfew across the state from 1800 hrs this evening to 0500 hrs on April 19.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to Twitter on Thursday to announce the decision and urged the people to strictly follow Covid appropriate behaviour to break the chain of transmission.
‘In view of the surge Corona cases, the state will be under curfew from 1800 hrs tomorrow to 0500 hrs on Monday. Appeal to all of you to cooperate with the government during the curfew and follow the Covid- appropriate behavior,’ he said in a tweet in Hindi last night.
If stringent measures are not taken now, the situation may slip out of control like in other states, he added.
On Thursday, the state had recorded 33 COVID-19 deaths and 6,658 fresh cases.
