1- What do you think are the changes that have happened in Goa in the last four years and what do you see in the future of Goa in the next four years?
The best change I see is the change in the Government. After many years people have given a clear mandate to the new Government, which means people of Goa are united to fight against corruption. If this phase continues we will see a good development in all sectors in Goa in coming years.
This will definitely help to get investors in Goa in various fields which will help to rise Goa’s Economy .
2- What are the most critical issues working towards Goa’s advantage?
Fight against corruption and good Governance under the leadership of Honourable CM Shri Manohar Parrikar has changed the opinion about Goa in the minds of people all over the country. With the support of public he will definitely project Goa as favourite Global destination.
3- What are the most critical issues working towards Goa’s disadvantage?
For last many years uncontrolled entries of foreigners and their stay beyond visa period led to many illegal activities spoiling the youth and culture of the State. Such activities have inculcated a wrong impression in the minds of youth who feel it’s a easy and quick way to make money and achieve success.
4- What does Goa need to do over the next four years to be recognised as a Global destination?
We have to find an alternative to Tourism and Mining, because both can play a spoiled sport if not controlled. We have to look for other options like R&D, non polluting Industrial growth, Educational Institutes of International Standard.
Secondly we need to impose heavy fines on people who break the laws and there should not be any escape from this, which will bring a lot of discipline in the state in terms of civic sense.
5- Are the people of Goa its biggest drawback or its biggest strength?
People of Goa are peace loving and that is its biggest strength. At the same time being ‘sushegad’ and typical crab mentality hampers the growth. This has to be over come at the earliest. We all should stay united and work together for the upliftment of the state. Time has come, where in each one of us should start contributing for the progress of Goa without any self interest. This will be of great support to our Chief Minister who is a person with great vision and whose priority is to make Goa an ideal State.
