Ramkumar defeats Ilhan in ATP Challenger

Chandigarh, Sep 12 (GCSports) Eighth seed India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan took just 58 minutes to show the exit door to wild card entrant Marsel Ilhan of Turkey whom he routed 6-2, 6-2 in the singles second round match in the $81,240 ATP Challenger Tennis Tournament in Istanbul on Wednesday.

In the pre-quarter-final encounter, Ramkumar Ramanathan will face 12th seed Nicola Kuhn of Spain.

In a men’s double match, second-seeded pair of Purav Raja of India and Rameez Junaid of Australia beat wild cards entrants of Ruben Bemelmans (Belgium) and Nenad Zimonjic (Serbia) in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 15 minutes to enter the second round of the tournament.
