Home Minister Ravi Naik has employed both his sons in his ministerial office and are paid salaries through the Home Department. This was revealed in a written reply given by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat to BJP MLA Francis D’Souza.
While his elder son Ritesh is appointed as Private Secretary drawing a monthly salary of Rs 29441. The younger son Roy is employed as Personal Assistant and is paid a salary of Rs 19,904 every month. Incidentally, both the sons are the highest paid in the office amongst others employed at the same position.
The Home Minister’s younger son Roy has been at the centre of quite a few controversies particularly involving narcotics trade in Goa. Lucky Farmhouse the ex-girlfriend of drug dealer Yaniv Benaim alias Atala had alleged that Roy was quite close to the drug dealer and was a frequent visitor to their house at Anjuna. Earlier, Fiona Mackeown, mother of the murdered British teenager Scarlet Keeling had also accused Roy of feeding drugs to her daughter.
