Rehabilitation and rescue work underway in Chiplun town of Ratnagiri district

Aurangabad/Mumbai: Rehabilitation and rescue work in underway on a war footing to restore the situation in Chiplun of Ratnagiri district.

According to the official press statement, State Minister for Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant himself is camping here in Chiplun and is guiding everyone in this work for the last three days.

The water in Chiplun is receding but the whole city is muddy.

Affected people being given food packets, dry food and water with the help of different rescue teams.

Electricity and mobile towers which were collapsed are being started.

All the citizens of Chiplun are doing their best to help. Businessmen have suffered huge losses due to rainwater. For this, a meeting of the representatives of the insurance company was held at Ratnagiri on Saturday and the Minister has strongly instructed them to immediately conduct a survey and help them in terms of humanity.

Everything is expected to start smoothly in the coming days. Mr Samant is working day and night in Chiplun in coordination with NDRF, SDRF, Coast Guard, Indian Navy, Indian Army and local administration.


He is in constant touch with the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.


on Saturday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray visited the rain-ravaged areas in Raigad and Ratnagiri district and assured all the possible help to the kins of those who lost their lives in the landslide.


Union MSME Minister Narayan Rane will visit the rain-affected areas in these districts today.
