Restricted Sale of Liquor in Goa from 23rd April

In the wake of upcoming Panchayat elections in the State on 16th May, Goa will have restricted sale of liquor from Monday, 23rd April.

State Election Commissioner M Modassir informed that the sale of liquor would be stopped at 11 pm every day from 23rd April onwards; while there would be four dry days in a row – 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th May.

The restriction on liquor will be enforced all over the state even though the elections are to be held only for the Panchayat bodies, he informed.

Modassir also informed that the Excise Department has been instructed to form special squads for ensuring that the ban is not violated.
