The Goa State Disaster Management Committee will today decide which company will remove River Princess from Candolim where it has been lying for nearly a decade now.
The Committee has shortlisted four companies as their technical bids met the scrutiny and their financial bids will be opened on 10th November to decide who will remove the vessel.
The four bids shortlisted are: titan Maritime (Sea) Pvt. Ltd from Singapore, Goa based Madgavkar Salvage’s joint bid with Smith Salvage from Singapore, Resolve Salvage & Fire Europe Ltd. from United Kingdom and Arihant Ship Breakers.
The bids of Salgaonkar Mining Industries Pvt. Ltd., Jeisu Shipping Pvt. Ltd. and Al Fara General Trading were rejected as their technical bids did not meet the requirements.
Fresh tenders were invited after two companies – Salgaonkar Mining Industries Pvt. Ltd., and River Princess Hatao Manch – withdrew their offer to remove the vessel free of cost on grounds that the ` 10 crore guarantee sought by the government was too high.
