Rs 1053 crore paid-out for Congress government bad administration: CM

Stating that pressure on the BJP-led government has not been because of the closure of mining but because of the bills left by the former Congress government, Manohar Parrikar, Goa Chief Minister said that the government had to pay as pending bills Rs 1053 crores for the bad administration of the former Public Works Department, Water Resources Department and Electricity Department ministers namely Churchill Alemao, Alexio Sequeira and Filipe Neri Rodrigues.

He further stated that the government had to pay Rs 811.17 crores for pending PWD bills, Rs 165.40 for the Irrigation Department bills and 115.40 Electricity Department bills. “We have managed to still keep the government moving ahead even with such blatant mismanagement,” expressed Parrikar.

“Rs 300 crore of public money would have gone as part of commission alone in the PWD department,” revealed the Chief Minister.

Telling the House that the government will take action against those involved in various scams of the previous Congress government, Parrikar stated that it would certainly be initiated shortly after this Assembly session.
