Goa Minister for Public Works Department (PWD) Sudin Dhavlikar has said that an amount of Rs six crores has been earmarked for development of Village Panchayat Sports Ground complex at Marcaim in North Goa.
The Sports Complex, he said, will have provision for necessary Sports facilities and Sport infrastructure.
Speaking as Chief Guest after commissioning a new road leading from Shree Navdurga Temple to Caranzalem, Marcaim junction costing to Rs 10. 05 crore at a function held at Marcaim in Ponda taluka on Tuesday, Mr Dhavalikar said the State Government was committed for the promotion of sports and in this regard several projects and programmes have been undertaken to encourage sports persons and boost sports infrastructure in the state.
Speaking further Dhavlikar said the endeavour of the Government would be to see that the aspirations and expectations of the people in the state were fulfilled.
He mentioned that all existing internal roads in Marcaim areas would be taken up for repairs and added saying that widening of stretch of road from Mahalwada to Ladewada in Village Panchayat Marcaim would be taken up on priority.
He said the ongoing work of construction of four lane stretch of Road from Mahalwada to Navdurga Temple in Marcaim would be completed by December 2018.
