RTI Activist urges CM not to appoint tainted PI
Adv. Rodrigues has in his memorandum also stated that given the very alarming levels of crime that Goa is witnessing, it would have been expected that only persons with the highest levels of integrity and competence would have been chosen for these vital posts.
Adv. Rodrigues has expressed concern that in a rank politically manipulated selection, Ministers and ruling party MLAs had been asked to recommend their candidates while the principle of selection by merit and qualifications had been thrown to the winds.
Drawing the Chief Minister’s attention that over the last few years quite a few rotten apples have put the entire police force to shame and disrepute, Adv. Rodrigues has wondered whether Goa could afford to allow another such doubtful character like Netajirao Prabhudessai to infiltrate and be a potential liability to the Goa Police.
Reminding the Chief Minister of his promise of Zero tolerance to Corruption, Adv. Rodrigues has sought the Chief Ministers intervention to also weed out any other tainted persons like Netaji Prabhudessai who may have also have been selected as PSIs in the list of 103.
