A 30-year old Russian is reported to have committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) building on Wednesday evening. He was undergoing treatment there after he unsuccessfully attempted to end his life the previous day.
The man was residing in Pernem when he tried to harm himself with a broken bottle. He was rescued after witnesses called 108 ambulance services which rushed him to GMC from Arambol early Tuesday morning. He was admitted to a room on the ground floor of the building.
However, the foreigner attempted suicide the second time at around 9pm on Wednesday. He is learnt to have quietly moved to a higher floor and jumped to his death.
