Sabarimala protest : Case against man for attacking activist Ammini with chilli spray


Kochi, Nov 27 (GCCurrentAffairs) Police have registered a case under non-bailable offences against the person who attacked social activist Bindu Ammini with chilli spray after she came to trek to Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala on Tuesday.

The case was registered against Hindu Helpline Coordinator Sreenath, a native of Kannur, for inflicting physical abuse under IPC 326 B.

According to Ammini, five more persons were involved in the incident.

Police have also registered cases against the protestors who staged Nama Japam in front of the office of Kochi Police Commissioner.

After Bhumata Brigade leader Trupti Desai arrived in Kochi to visit Sabarimala yesterday, protests intensified under the leadership of Sabarimala Karma Samathi (SKS) in front of the office.

The chilly spray was used against Ammini during the protest.
