Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday at the BJP’s workers convention demanded sacking of Digambar Kamat led Congress government for their incompetence in handling tribal agitation which later turned violent.
It may be recalled that United Tribals Associations Alliance (UTAA) agitation on 25th May at Balli village had turned violent after which the mob burnt down two tribals – Manguesh Gaonkar and Dilip Velip.
BJP State President Laxmikant Parsekar alleged that the Congress government is insensitive and indifferent to the demands of UTAA.
He also alleged that the policemen and government machinery were silent spectators when the building of Adarsh Agricultural Co-Operative Society was set ablaze and two of the agitators were brutally beaten and burnt.
“In view of the above, BJP is of the opinion that the Congress-led government has no moral right to continue and should be immediately dismissed,” he said.
Around 500 workers attended this convention during which Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar moved the resolution to dismiss Kamat-led government.
