Agriculture Minister Vishwajeet Rane said that more than 250 farmers from five villages of Sattari taluka will get agriculture machinery at subsidized rates and also fertilizers through the Agriculture Department. He further informed that the subsidized amount will be borne by Sattari Yuva Morcha.
Rane was speaking after inaugurating Krishi Mela cum distribution of coconut saplings to the farmers organized by Directorate of Agriculture at Caranzale in Sattari on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, Rane said that agricultural implements like power tiller, cutter, transplanter and electric fencing will be provided free of cost to the farmers from Nagargam, Khetode, Morle, Savordem and Bhironda village which will benefit more than 2,000 farmers from the area.
Rane urged the farmers to build electric fencing to protect agricultural crops from wild animals. He said the State Government is emphasising on boosting agricultural activities in the State and appealed to the farmers to avail maximum benefit of various schemes and programmes implemented by Government.
