SC Grants Lyndon Anticipatory Bail

The Supreme Court on Monday granted Lyndon Monteiro anticipatory bail in the Nadia Torrado case being investigated by the Crime Branch of Goa Police.
The Court while asking the State to provide evidence necessitating Lyndon’s custody has however, permitted the State to move the court for custody if it finds any new evidence requiring him to be taken into custody.
The Crime Branch’s prayer not to reveal details of the investigation on grounds that it would vitiate the investigations, was not upheld by the Court that granted the Accused anticipatory bail.

Lyndon Monteiro who was a close aide of then Tourism Minister Micky Pacheco is accused of abetting Nadia Torrado in her suicide and also of tampering with evidence and the Crime Branch was seeking his custody to retrieve Nadia Torrado’s mobile phone and laptop.
