SCAN India (A project of El Shaddai) in collaboration with Directorate of Women & Child Development organized a three month vocational course for the children of Apna Ghar. A closing ceremony to mark the culmination of the vocational courses will be held at Kala Academy (Black Box) on 12th April 2011. The courses were conducted for the children from 5th Jan to 8th April’ 2011 at Apna Ghar, by the Govt. Polytechnic Institute, Altinho.
The Guests for the Cultural Programme will be the Secretary of Women & Child Development & Director of Women & Child Development.
The objective to initiate such a course was to develop and empower the children with livelihood skills. The courses comprised of “Repairs of electrical appliances and electrical fittings”, and “Artificial Jewellery.” A course in “Party Decorations” was conducted by SCAN. The closing ceremony would comprise of an entertainment programme which includes a song, a skit and dances performed by children from Apna Ghar, and another dance group. There would also be an exhibition displaying the items made by children during the 3 month course.
