Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday jumped by 306.54 points to close at 34,287.24 following gains in Metal, Telecom, Materials and Realty stocks tracking positive global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 113.05 points to 10,142.15.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 10,177.80 and 10,040.75 respectively.
Sliding by 128 points on Thursday, the Sensex opened higher by 307 pts to 34,198.55. During the day, it spurted by 425 points to 34,405.43, days high, before closing at 34,287.24 up by 306.54 points from its previous close.
It registered days low at 33,958.02, fell by 62 points.
The stocks include, Metal, Telecom, Materials, Industrials and Power lifted the market.
In scrips, State Bank of India, was a star gainer up nearly eight per cent as it posted a net profit of Rs 3,581 crore for the March quarter of FY20 (Q4FY20). The profit grew 326.93 per cent from Rs 838 crore clocked in the year-ago quarter (Q4FY19). Sequentially, the profit declined by 35.85 per cent.
In scrips, SBI, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance and HDFC Bank advanced while selling in TCS, Hind Unilever, Bajaj Auto and Infosys restricted from further gains, broker informed.
Mid cap rose by 1.79 per cent and Small Cap by 2.51 per cent. In 30 scrips, 21 advanced while nine declined.
