Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Monday surged by 430 pts, breaching 37K level at 37,024.20 as fresh buying was seen across the board amid positive global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 86 pts to 10,854.15. The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 37,024.20 and 36,865.90 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intraday high and low at 10,894.95 and 10,846.25 pts respectively. The Mid Cap declined by 0.65 pc while Small Cap was up by 0.59 pc.
The indices that lifted the market were Materials, Bankex, Realty, Technology and Finance stocks.
Reliance Industries rose over 2 per cent and hit a lifetime high on the BSE after it announced the sale of 0.15 per cent stake in Jio Platforms to Qualcomm Ventures for Rs 730 crore.
Besides, Tata Steel and Tech Mahindra also gained 2 per cent each.The gainers were Tech Mahindra by 3.05 pc to Rs 586, Reliance Industries by 2.58 pc to Rs 1927.05, Infosys by 1.77 pc to Rs 795.60 and Maruti Suzuki by 1.36 pc to Rs 6038.95.
The losers were HDFC by 0.45 pc to Rs 1877.70, HDFC Bank by 0.28 pc to Rs 1102.20 and Bharti Airtel by 0.11 pc to Rs 574.85.
