Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday dropped 633.76 pts to settle at 38,357.18 as selling was witnessed across the board amid weak global cues.
The nifty of national stock exchange too fell by 193.60 pts at 11,333.35 pts.
The equity market remained in red for another day on Friday, as the Sensex fell by 665 pts to open at 38,325.
During the day it was slumped by 741 pts to 38,249.77 days low, before closing at 38,357.18, down by 633.76 pts from its previous close.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 38,729.66 and 38,249.77 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 11,452.05 and 11,303.65 pts respectively.
The sectoral indices that tumbled down were Metal, Telecom, Realty, Bankex, Materials and Power stocks.
In scrips, Axis Bank, Tata Steel, SBI, NTPC and Bharti Airtel eased.
However, sole TCS rose by 0.02 pc. The Mid Cap eased by 1.74 pc and Small Cap by 1.07 pc.
In 30 scrips, 28 declined while 2 rose.
