Mumbai: The BSE Sensex remained weak for another day on Thursday, as it fell by 59.14 points to settle at 38,310.49 as renewed selling was witnessed in Telecom, Bankex, Technology and Health Care stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange eased by 7.95 points to 11,300.45. It recorded days high and low at 11,359.30 and 11,269.95 points respectively.
See saw trend was seen during the day, as the Sensex opened higher by 87 points to 38,456.64. It advanced by 147 points to 38,516.85, days high.
Later, it tumbled down nearly 154 points to 38,215.05, days low, before closing at 38,310.49, sliding by 59.14 points from its previous close.
The sectoral indices like Telecom, Health Care, Bankex and Technology stocks were main draggers.
However, buying in Capital Goods, Industrials, Realty and Consumer Durable restricted from further losses, the broker informed.
In scrips, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, ITC, SBI and Axis Bank declined while L& T, Titan, HCL Technologies, Ultracemco and NTPC advanced.
The Mid Cap rose by 1.59 per cent and Small Cap by 0.76 per cent. In 30 scrips, 13 advanced while 17 declined.
