Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday smartly recovered by 111 points to open at 38,847.88 on fresh buying in Health Care, IT, Capital Goods and Technology stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange rose by 37 points to 11,139.50.
The sectoral indices include IT, Technology, Health Care and Capital Goods stocks lifted the market.
The Mid Cap moved up by 0.60 per cent and Small Cap by 0.70 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 25 advanced while 5 declined.
The gainers were SBI by 2.33 per cent to Rs 190.90, HCL Technologies by 2.13 per cent to Rs 709.90, Infosys by 1.93 per cent to Rs 980.45, ICICI Bank by 1.93 per cent to Rs 351.70 and TCS by 1.92 per cent to Rs 2321.80.
The losers were Kotak Bank by 1.38 per cent to Rs 1368.85, Reliance industries by 1.26 per cent to Rs 2082, HDFC by 1.13 per cent to Rs 1790.60 and HDFC Bank by 0.92 per cent to Rs 1040.80.
