Mumbai: The BSE index of Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday bounced back by 241 pts to 34,198.59 in opening trade on buying in Bankex, Finance, Realty and Telecom stocks in line with positive global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 68.65 pts to 10,115.30.
The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 34,209.03 and 34,104.53 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intraday high and low at 10,119.85 and 10,060.5 pts respectively.
The sectoral indices like Bankex, Finance, Realty and Telecom stocks pushed the market up in early trade.
The midcap and Small cap was up by 0.55 pc each.
In 30 scrips, 23 advanced, 7 declined.
A total of 24 companies including Shriram Transport Finance, Tanla Solutions, Century Textiles are scheduled to announce their March quarter numbers today.
The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 2.73 pc to Rs 477.15, Kotak Bank by 2.05 pc to Rs 1331, HDFC by 1.98 pc to Rs 1806.35, HCL Technology by 1.21 pc to Rs 579.90 and Ultracemco by 1.12 pc to Rs 3836.50.
The losers were HeroMoto Corp by 1.65 pc to Rs 2346.20, Tata Steel by 1.41 pc to Rs 327.65, Infosys by 0.62 pc to Rs 713.30 and Bajaj Auto by 0.49 pc to Rs 2778.90 and L & T by 0.35 pc to Rs 949.65.
