Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday lost another 440.76 points to settle at 50,405.32 due to heavy selling was seen in Metal, Industrials, Telecom and Power stocks.
The Nifty also declined by 142.65 points to settle at 14,938.10.
In early trade, the Sensex fell by 329 points to 50,517.36. During the day it dropped nearly 680 points to 50,160.54, the days low before closing at 50,405.32, sliding by 440.76 points from its last close.
The Sensex registered the days high and low at 50,886.19 and 50,160.54 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded the days high and low at 15,092.35 and 14,862.20 points.
The sectoral indices that dragged the market for another day because of Metal, Industrials, Telecom and Power stocks. In scrips, IndusInd Bank, SBI, Power, Dr Reddy and NTPC kept the market under pressure.
The Mid Cap declined by 1.89 percent and Small Cap by 1.50 percent .
