Mumbai: Extending gains for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday, the BSE Sensex rose by 39.55 pts to 39,113.47 following gains in Realty, Health Care, Bankex and Auto stocks.
The Nifty of national stock exchange moved up by 9.65 pts to 11,559.25.The Nifty recorded days high and low at 11,617.35 and 11,540.60 pts respectively.
Though high volatility was seen during the day, the market maintained its rally intact for the fifth day today, as the Sensex opened higher by 220 pts to 39,293.53.
It advanced by 253 pts to 39,326.98, days high before closing at 39,113.47, up by 39.55 pts from its previous close.
It fell by 27 pts to 39,046.94 days low.The sectoral indices like Realty, Health Care, Bankex and Auto surged during the day.
In scrips, IndusInd Bank, SBI, M& M, HDFC and Sun Pharma rose while Reliance Industries, ONGC, Bajaj Auto, Kotak Bank and Ultracemco slipped that capped from further gains, broker informed.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.01 pc and Small Cap by 0.35 pc. In 30 scrips, 14 advanced, 15 declined while one remained unchanged.
