Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday surged by 353 pts to 33,658.95 in opening trade tracking positive global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 104 pts to 9,930.95.
The sectoral indices like Realty, Auto, IT and Consumer Discretionary Goods and services kept the rally intact for the fifth consecutive session.
The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 33,658.95 and 33,301.29 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intraday high and low at 9,930.95 and 9,824.05 pts respectively.
The Midcap and Small cap was up by 1.45pc each.
Of 30 scrips, 25 advanced while 5 declined.
As many as 18 companies, including the likes of Britannia, Indigo, and Motherson Sumi, are scheduled to announce their results today which will induce individual stock reactions.
The gainers were Kotak Bank by 7.66 pc to Rs 1344.90, M & M by 2.69 pc to Rs 473.80, Sun Pharma by 2.32 pc to Rs 475.95 and HeroMoto Corp by 2.17 pc to Rs 2377.65.
The losers were L and T by 0.62 pc to Rs 922.40, ITC by 0.56 pc to Rs 337.10 and Ultracemco by 0.45 pc to Rs 3800.35.
