Seven states to get 13 new Kendriya Vidyalayas

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal for opening of 13 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in seven States and a second Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Alot, District Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has given approval to open 13 schools in Banda (Uttar Pradesh), Washim (Maharashtra), Chakpikarong (Manipur), Parbham (Maharashtra), Nawada (Bihar), Mirjapur (Uttar Pradesh), Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh), Palamau (Jharkhand), Siddipet (Telangana), Kudamalakunte (Karnataka), CISF Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh), Devkund (Bihar) and Baoli (Uttar Pradesh).

The CCEA also approved the establishment of an additional Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Alot, Ratlam District in Madhya Pradesh. Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh has a high percentage of SC and ST population and there is huge demand for establishing an additional JNV in that district.
