New Delhi, Nov 15 (GCCurrentAffairs) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday visited the Central Reserve Police Force headquarter here and paid tributes to the martyrs of the forces.
Taking to micro-blogging site twitter, he said CRPF personnel have always lived up to their motto of ‘Sewa and Nishtha’ while protecting our nation at different terrains. “I salute the courage & bravery of CRPF personnel and their families. We are proud of their exemplary valour”, Mr Shah tweeted.
Expressing his deep gratitude to the CRPF martyrs in a series of tweets, the Home Minister further said “It is important to know the glorious history of ‘Sardar Post’ located on the Indo-Pakistan border in Kutch, to every Indian especially the young generation today. On April 9, 1965, an entire Infantry Brigade of Pakistan attacked the Sardar Post but it was successfully thwarted by two CRPF companies only with full retaliation”.
In the counter attack, brave CRPF jawans on ‘Sardar Post’ killed 34 Pakistani soldiers and captured four alive. Eight of CRPF soldiers were also martyred in this war. This war holds a unique place in our history because of the indomitable courage of Indian soldiers and it inspires everyone, Mr Shah further said.
“This gallant saga of our brave soldiers on ‘Sardar Post’ makes every Indian proud. Paid tribute to the jawans of Sardar Post at CRPF HQ.This nation will forever be indebted to his sacrifice”, he tweeted further
